Brother & Sister Sign with Linfield University

Teslin and Dakota Brannan signed with Linfield University and will compete on their track team starting in the fall of 2024. They will be trained by head coach Travis Olson and assistant pole vault coach Dayson Tiogangco.

Linfield University is a private liberal arts college with campuses in McMinnville and Portland, Oregon. The Wildcats athletics team participates in the NCAA Division III Northwest Conference. Linfield reported 1,755 students.

Both Teslin and Dakota received generous academic scholarships, which helped offset the price of tuition, books, and board. NCAA Division III schools do not offer athletic scholarships, but financial aid packages are based on academic achievements, financial need, and other non-athletic factors.

Teslin has decided to pursue a degree in environmental science. Despite being a freshman, she has accumulated over 37 semester hours through the dual enrollment program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Teslin is the Alaska State Record Holder in the pole vault, with an official jump of 11’4” (3.45 meters).

Dakota is a transfer student from Utah State University, where he pursued a degree in pre-veterinarian science. As a freshman, Dakota earned a place on the dean's list and try-out status on the track team. By signing with Linfield, Dakota will remain focused on his pre-veterinarian studies as he continues his dream of pole vaulting in college.

Dakota’s best official mark in the pole vault is 15’0” (4.55 meters).

We can’t wait to see what Dakota and Teslin can do while at Linfield University. Go wildcats!
